“The face is the mirror of the mind, and the eyes without speaking confess the secrets of the heart.” – St. Jerome
I ran into a friend the other day. You know the friend that said seven years ago that she hated the job that we both worked at the time but she was still working there. You know one that said that God wanted her to preach the word but she was not. The one that said that marriage was in the cards for her but she was still single. The one that said that in the summer she would go away to school and become someone. You know the one that said one day she would have enough hours of vacation and travel to Africa for a couple of weeks. The one that said one day she would leave unfulfilling relationships behind.
As I stood face-to-face with her, I realized something very important that caused judgment towards this friend to dissipate. I realized that I WAS her…
I may have other things that I seek to accomplish but in the end we both share the same desires to move forward in life and grow.
I encourage all of you and myself to: Keep growing and keep striving for your life’s desires. If it takes you one year, two years, three years, four years, etc., then so be it! Not one person is the timekeeper of your destiny. Only the good Lord above is in charge of adding or subtracting time!
