How do I know if I am on the path to awakening?

It leads back to the questions you ask. Do you feel like there’s got to be more to this life? Do you crave to read, listen, or participate in events regarding spirituality? Are you unable to mask your uneasiness in life? Do you feel like you’re losing who you thought you were? Do the people around you ask you if you’re looking for something or running away from something? Is your mood constantly shifting because of your internal state that something is missing or your need to do something but you don’t believe you know what that something is?

When you hold an unceasing mediation on questions or conversations within you, you have set your feet to the path of awakening.

Seeking is the journey, it is the evolutionary footprints of the awakened individual and it will intensify against resistance. –W38

What did I do to cause this shift in my life?

You dared to ask the universe something. Oftentimes it is in our despair that we seek God. Asking questions that we could never understand without gut-wrenching pain. In these moments where no man can give the right answer; where none of the people we love can satisfy our soul; where prayer doesn’t seem to work; where all around us seems hopeless—we began to see and hear within. When the things we see within and the answers come in the stillness we gradually shed off the old way and question old beliefs that no longer serve us, destructive habits and behaviors that stagnate our evolution, old friends that don’t speak our new language, and jobs that no longer satisfy us. Your questioning after a while leaves you naked as the day you were born.

Stop seeking the external for answers only the universe can provide.

How can I stop my awakening?

If you’ve noticed that your thoughts have been inundated with questions like: What is my purpose? Who can I talk too? Where should I go? What makes me happy?

fotaa90If you’ve noticed that you suddenly feel like time is running out, that you must do something now, that you are not the same, that you speak a different language, so to speak, that you want to sit with you thoughts, that you want to change your life, that you want to move away, that you want to start anew—then you won’t satisfy that yearning until you do something.

If these activities of the mind are constant in your life, you may be at a point of no return. If the things you used to do don’t satisfy you—it may be too late to turn it off. If you would rather be left to sorting out your thoughts about life’s hardest questions then stopping may not be an option for you. If you feel like you can’t turn it off and you’ve tried to turn off those questions than it may have seeped to far down into your subconscious that even when you’re not even aware, you’re asking those questions of the universe.
